Nov. 19, 2010: New ACCA Technical Bulletin Covers Ventilation Compliance for Residential Structures

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) has released the latest technical bulletin in its members-only series. Called “Ensuring Compliance with ASHRAE 62.2-2010 for Residential Structures,” the bulletin covers how to determine the amount of ventilation air required to comply with the standard, including minimum airflow calculations and variable and intermittent ventilation calculations and exceptions.

Also covered are ASHRAE 62.2 approved system types, and additional requirements, restrictions, and design related considerations. Included in the bulletin is information on changes to the ASHRAE standard, most notably a change in the design requirements for intermittent fans.

ACCA noted that following ASHRAE Standard 62.2-2010 helps to ensure that residential HVAC systems are designed with adequate ventilation.

ACCA technical bulletins may be downloaded by members at www.acca.org/bulletins/. For more information, contact Donald Prather at donald.prather@acca.org.
