According to the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI), the HVACR industry needs to train 20,000 new technicians and installers each year. "Our support program has grown from a handful of schools to over 50 that we regularly send components to," said Fred Namei, an application engineer who heads up Danfoss' donation program. "The students get to work with top quality current products, and there is a constant need, since parts are often sacrificed or cut open during class demonstrations."
"These donations from Danfoss greatly enhance our technical education process, especially in light of the budget constraints felt by most educational institutions today," said Scott Owen, an instructor at NCC. "Hands-on experience with this new material really benefits our students."
In addition to components and equipment, Danfoss also supplies instructional materials, training aids, and technical literature. Schools that are interested in being added to the Danfoss support program should contact Fred Namei at FredNamei@danfoss.com.
