Nov. 1, 2005: Neitzel Elected AMCA International President

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. - Emery (Pete) Neitzel, vice president of engineering and manufacturing for Greenheck Fan Corp., Schofield, Wis., was elected president of the Air Movement and Control Association International (AMCA International) at the association's annual meeting in Los Cabos, Mexico.

Neitzel has served on several of the association's technical committees and assisted with the development of a number of AMCA publications and standards. He served as chair of the Technical Advisory Committee on Sound from 1986-1994; chair of the Engineering Standards Committee from 1993-1996; and chair of the Air Movement Division from 1998-2000. He was elected to the board of directors in 1999 and served as AMCA International's vice president this past year.

In addition to his involvement with AMCA International, Neitzel has contributed to the development of standards for other trade organizations, including the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL), and the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). He has published and presented various papers on HVAC equipment design, testing, and application.

Neitzel plans to focus his efforts on expanding AMCA's worldwide presence and recognition by identifying the roles the association and its members can play in advancing the air movement and control industry. Neitzel stated, "AMCA International's members are the association's greatest asset and opportunity for growth. I plan to encourage more individuals to become involved at the leadership level on committees and task forces in AMCA, related trade associations, and regulatory agencies during the coming year. It is through their involvement we will advance our association and the industry."
