Several Eastern area members of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) were awarded RSES Certificate Member (CM) and Certificate Member Specialist (CMS) status in the first quarter of 2007. These members had to pass a rigorous exam on the knowledge required to install and service refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
Joseph F. Badolato, of the Metropolitan N.Y. Chapter, New York, and Raul Valderama, of the Rochester Chapter, Rochester, N.Y., were awarded CM status.
CMS status requires passing one or more of the eight Specialist exams: Commercial Refrigeration, Commercial Air Conditioning, Heating, Controls, Domestic Service, HVACR Electrical, Heat Pump, and Dynamic Compression.
Craig G. Drabenstadt, of the Central Pennsylvania Chapter, Harrisburg, Pa., passed the CMS exam in Heating. John F. Hierholzer, of the Delaware Valley Chapter, Philadelphia, passed the CMS exam in HVACR Electrical. Thomas S. Nawrocki, also of the Delaware Valley Chapter, passed the CMS exam in HVACR Electrical.
