Brian Hooper, vice president of operations for MSI Mechanical Systems, was moved to give back.
“While on a family vacation in Florida, we were able to meet a Make-A-Wish family,” he explained. “They said it wouldn’t be possible for them to have this experience if it wasn’t for Make-A-Wish. It was very touching for me and my wife Laura; we both really wanted to help in some way.”
Hooper contacted Make-A-Wish with his aspiration to impact Wish Children in the area. His idea, “Driving for Dreams,” was created to allow local corporations to sponsor a wish, while using their fleet of vehicles to remind others that making a difference only takes one phone call.
“We are so grateful for Brian and MSI’s generous commitment to bring such joy and happiness to our Wish Children, their families, and communities throughout the Granite State,” said Jason Tremblay, director of Corporate Alliances, Make-A-Wish of New Hampshire. “MSI sets a wonderful example; now, more than ever, we need the New Hampshire community to rally together in support of our Wish Children.”
In its continued effort to support children in need, MSI also donated $1,000 to support the New Hampshire Food Bank. According to the company, when school breaks for the summer, food pantries and soup kitchens in New Hampshire look to the food bank for extra food so that dependent school children will continue to receive the meals they need. MSI’s donation will be leveraged to help feed many such children throughout the state.
“MSI wants to give back to the community and help the people in the community who need it the most,” said Hooper. “We can’t make a difference if we don’t make the effort, and the New Hampshire Food Bank is a perfect example of ‘if you give, we can make a difference.’ ”
The cash donation will directly support the first Annual New Hampshire Food Bank Golf Classic.
