Money Pledged For Wind Power

Massachusetts Technology Collaborative (MTC) Executive Director Mitchell Adams announced a $4 million initiative designed to help cities and towns across the state to tap into wind power in order to meet local electricity needs. MTC administers the state's Renewable Energy Trust, which is making funding, technical assistance, and detailed wind maps available to municipalities that have expressed interest in exploring development opportunities for community-scale wind turbines. The organization will also bring together local officials, environmentalists, energy experts, and other nonprofit groups for a series of meetings across the state to gauge community interest and to look at what resources are needed.
