Mitsubishi Electric, HVAC Advanced Products Div.: Air Handlers

The PMFY ductless one-way ceiling cassette and PFFY floor-mounted air handlers have been added to the City Multi® line of variable refrigerant flow zoning (VRFZ) systems. The PMFY is designed to provide the right amount of airflow and capacity for applications that need single-direction airflow, such as combating excessive heat from a window or in a small office area, the company states. Also, because of its shallow ceiling story requirement, this model can be used for areas without room for ductwork or wall-mounted units. It is offered in capacities of 8,000, 10,000, 12,000, and 16,000 Btuh. The PFFY models are available in six capacities: 8,000, 10,000, 12,000, 16,000, 20,000, and 24,000 Btuh. It can be used in installations that don't have space above the ceiling or for replacing package terminal air conditioners or unit ventilators. The PFFY-NEMU has an exterior finish that is suitable for installations that don't need finish work, the company states. The PFFY-NRMU models are designed for installations where the units are built into a limited space under a window or sidewall. Also, the PFFY-NRMU units can be concealed in a closet, cabinet, or wall.
