MDU Resources Purchases Bombard Mechanical

BISMARCK, N.D. - MDU Resources Group Inc. announced the acquisition of Bombard Mechanical LLC, based in Las Vegas. Bombard Mechanical specializes in the installation and maintenance of HVAC equipment as well as plumbing systems.

Bombard Mechanical will become part of Utility Services Inc. (USI), a wholly owned operating subsidiary of MDU Resources. Bombard Mechanical has annual revenues of about $25 million. Details of the purchase price were not released.

"Bombard Mechanical is a fast-growing mechanical company with rapidly increasing market share in the ever expanding Las Vegas market," said John Harp, Utility Services president and CEO.

"Combined with our June 9, 2005, acquisition of Bombard Electric, we can now offer customers the advantage of combining electrical and mechanical construction services into one complete turnkey package. Combined, Bombard Electric and Bombard Mechanical have annual revenues of about $166 million. Bombard Mechanical is an outstanding addition to USI."
