MCAA Student Chapters Win Awards

ROCKVILLE, MD — Two student chapters of the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) were recognized recently. The association gave the University of Nebraska at Lincoln its 2001 Student Chapter of the Year Award during the association’s 113th annual convention in Boca Raton, FL.

MCAA also announced the winner of its first student chapter competition. The contest required chapter teams to put together proposals for an owner to convert a parking garage into a data center. Four teams presented their proposals during the convention. The winning team, from the University of Washington, received a cash prize of $5,000.

The runner-up for the competition was the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. This chapter received a $2,500 prize.
