MCA Program Turns 'Heat On'

ST. LOUIS, MO — The Mechanical Contractors Association (MCA) of Eastern Missouri and Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local Union #562 provided heating system inspections to hundreds of disabled and needy homeowners in this area at its 14th-annual “Heat’s-On” program.

Donating time, resources, and materials valued at approximately $100 per house, a 34-point inspection included cleaning boilers, water heaters, and furnaces.

Dave Hardin, president of the MCA of Eastern Missouri, said, “We are proud to be able to offer this service to the community. Our goal this year was to reach 600 homes.”

The St. Louis Heats-On program is part of a nationwide effort. Last year heating equipment in more than 3,000 homes in 31 U.S. cities were serviced or repaired by more than 2,000 volunteer service techs and nearly 600 mechanical service contractors.
