May 9, 2008: Nordyne Launches ecoLogic Seal

ST. LOUIS - In an effort to meet the green needs of its customers, Nordyne has launched a new tool that assists in the green market sales process. Each of its brands - Frigidaire, Maytag, Nutone, Tappan, and Westinghouse - are offering a line of ecoLogic products. The new ecoLogic seal designates environmentally friendly HVAC products.

“Our ecoLogic family helps contractors sell ultra-efficient equipment by giving them a green platform,” said Jeff Gamache, Frigidaire brand manager. Matt Lattanzi, Maytag brand manager, echoed Gamache noting that, “ecoLogic makes it easy for homeowners to identify green heating and cooling products, and helps the contractor sell up to higher-efficiency units. The world is going green, and so are we.”

To receive the ecoLogic designation, each product must be rated as an Energy Star® product; use non-ozone-depleting refrigerant, such as R-410A; produce low NOx emissions; include multi-stage, variable-speed compressors; feature “smart” control boards or diagnostic controls; and incorporate noise-reducing features.

According to Nordyne, because energy efficiency is a direct link to innovation, contractors will find that ecoLogic products also offer some of the industry’s best total home comfort features, including even temperatures, reduced noise levels, improved humidity levels, and more.
