May 14, 2010: AirAdvice, Northwrite Partner to Provide Energy Monitoring and Verification

PORTLAND, Ore. - AirAdvice, together with NorthWrite Building Management Solutions, has announced a partnership to integrate elements of NorthWrite’s Energy WorkSite™ into AirAdvice’s BuildingAdvice™ energy services platform. NorthWrite’s energy monitoring and verification technology for reporting information on energy consumption on a long-term basis is now available as part of the BuildingAdvice suite of programs enabling service providers to reduce building energy costs.

“AirAdvice shares our vision of developing new channels and methods to deliver energy services, and brings a wealth of expertise with commercial HVAC contractors,” said Patrick O’Neill, CEO of NorthWrite. “This partnership gives building owners and operators greater access to our solutions than we could never achieve on our own, and gives contractors access to all of NorthWrite’s solutions through AirAdvice.”

Developed in cooperation with the Department of Energy, NorthWrite’s Energy Expert™ application offers continuous monitoring and energy reporting and will now be part of AirAdvice’s complete offering to its channel partners. BuildingAdvice™ will also feature other NorthWrite energy information management solutions such as Energy Kiosk™ (energy usage dashboards) and Degree Guard™ (temperature monitoring and alerting system).

An automated Energy Star® benchmarking service was launched earlier this year as part of BuildingAdvice. Now combined with continuous energy monitoring and verification solutions from NorthWrite, AirAdvice said that BuildingAdvice provides end-to-end solutions for benchmarking energy performance, identifying specific opportunities to reduce energy waste, verifying actual savings delivered, and ensuring ongoing performance.

“This partnership gives us immediate access to products that greatly enhance our offering,” said Jim Crowder, president and CEO of AirAdvice. “Being able to provide a robust, low-cost monitoring and verification solution, combined with BuilidngAdvice’s existing products, significantly increases the value of the offering to the building owner.”

“Adding continuous energy monitoring and verification to the BuildingAdvice program will really help us close the loop for our customers,” said Rick Cooke, vice president of Airco Commercial Services located in California’s Bay Area. “A system that accurately measures and reports actual energy savings delivered eliminates a tremendous amount of financial risk for the building owner.”
