March 8, 2007: HVAC Duct Systems Inspection Guide Available

CHANTILLY, Va. - The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association (SMACNA) has announced that the newly revised third edition of the HVAC Duct Systems Inspection Guide is now available.

It reviews materials and reinforcement of duct systems, as well as assembly and supports of ducts. In addition, it contains guidelines for the inspection of commercial HVAC duct systems for compliance with SMACNA/ANSI HVAC Duct Construction Standards-Metal and Flexible, third edition, and Fibrous Glass Duct Construction Standards, seventh edition.

The Fire, Smoke and Radiation Damper Guide, fifth edition, also summarizes installation details. Checklists are included for ductwork and fire dampers. This publication can serve as a study guide for the HVAC Duct Construction Standards manual and for learning general inspection procedures.

SMACNA members may elect to receive a free copy of this publication. Members may purchase the 158-page HVAC Duct Systems Inspection Guide at the special member price of $23 for the book, $28 for the CD-ROM, $37 for the CD/book combo, and $23 for the PDF download.
