March 30, 3005: Two HVACR Programs Receive PAHRA Accreditation

ARLINGTON, Va. - The HVACR training programs at Isaac Heating and Air Conditioning Inc., Rochester, N.Y., and Monmouth County Vocational School, Freehold, N.J., have received national accreditation through the Partnership for Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Accreditation (PAHRA) program.

Accreditation from PAHRA certifies that the HVACR programs at these institutions have exceeded industry standards in instruction, curriculum, student, faculty qualification, and facility standards set forth by the industry in the areas of residential air conditioning and heating, light commercial air conditioning and heating, and commercial refrigeration.

"Isaac Heating and Air Conditioning has earned the distinction of being the first contractor training program to receive accreditation through the PAHRA program," said Ray Mach, director of education for the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI). "This outstanding program achieved accreditation in two areas, Residential Air Conditioning and Heating, and Light Commercial Air Conditioning and Heating."

"Additionally, Monmouth County has become the first New Jersey program to be awarded PAHRA," said Mach. "And the program's instructor, Guy Letrick, was first runner-up in last year's Instructor of the Year competition."

The PAHRA accreditation program is validated by representatives from each major HVACR trade association and is available to all training programs, whether they are secondary, post secondary, public, or private. It was created for the purpose of establishing national educational standards for accrediting HVACR programs.

Partnerships in PAHRA include the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI), Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), Council of Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Educators (CARE), Gas Appliance Manufacturers Association (GAMA), Heating, Airconditioning & Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI), and Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors-National Association (PHCC).
