March 24, 2005: AGC Announces Winners Of Training Award
AGC of Mississippi was recognized for its Construction Education Foundation and the training it provides to high school students, member firm employees, and individuals in the electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and sheet metal crafts. Western Summit Constructors was chosen because of its in-house training program featuring the newly implemented Foreman Academy, a career development program designed to develop a strong base of future leaders.
Established by the association's Workforce Development Committee, the Construction Craft Program Award acknowledges unique approaches to craft training. The annual award, sponsored by AGC for more than 20 years, consists of a commemorative plaque and a monetary award.
An application for the 2005 program award is available from AGC's Training and Educational Services Division, at 333 John Carlyle Street, Suite 200, Alexandria, VA 22314, or it can be downloaded from AGC's Web site at www.agc.org. Entries are evaluated and judged by AGC's Workforce Development Committee.
