March 16, 2005: Trane Launches Rooftop Replacement Program

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Trane has announced the introduction of a new large rooftop unit replacement program. The program offers contractors a 5 percent rebate on IntelliPakâ„¢ and Voyager IIIâ„¢ commercial air conditioning rooftop systems being used as replacements for comparable equipment.

To qualify for the rebate, contractors must sign up with their local Trane sales office and place orders by Aug. 15, 2005. A rebate form must also be submitted including the nameplate of the replaced unit.

"Maintaining and replacing outdated HVAC equipment is a huge investment, and unplanned shut downs can cause discomfort for building occupants and revenue losses," said Philip Smyth, product manager for Trane Commercial Systems. "This program is a cost-effective opportunity for contractors to replace outdated HVAC equipment with new, high-quality, reliable Trane IntelliPak and Voyager III units."

Trane's IntelliPak and Voyager III rooftop air conditioning systems are designed for multi-story office buildings, hotels, schools, municipal, and industrial facilities The units feature the latest in compressor, heat exchanger, and controls technology, says the company.

"Because units are typically replaced over a weekend to minimize building disruption, it's better when there's less curb retrofit work, utility changes, and structural modifications," said Smyth. "Replacing IntelliPak and Voyager III rooftops with similar products is easy and cost effective because the footprint, utility connections, and weight haven't changed much. Plus, this replacement program is an incentive to replace units sooner so that building owners can enjoy lower maintenance costs and utility bills associated with new equipment."
