  • Westair Industries Inc.
  • (Dallas, TX) announced the successful completion of the supply of 1,240 chilled water fancoil units for the Tower Project, a 55-story residential building in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The European Commission announced that it will not shorten its investigation of the acquisition of Honeywell International Inc. (Morris Township, NJ) by the General Electric Co. (Fairfield, CT), but will conduct a full inquiry. European approval is the last hurdle for closing the deal. Europe’s antitrust regulators are to send an official statement to GE describing objections to the merger. GE will then ask for a hearing to respond. A spokeswoman said the company believes there are no meaningful antitrust problems. A deadline of July 12 has been established to finish the inquiry and make a decision.

  • Lennox Industries, Inc. (Dallas, TX) has launched a new advertising campaign. The Lennox advertising team collaborated with national advertising agency GSD&M to produce new consumer television and print ads. The television commercials will run on A&E, CNBC, The Discovery Channel, Headline News, HGTV, The History Channel, and the Weather Channel until late spring and resume in the fall. The print ads will run in several home and living magazines during appropriate seasons.

Cohen were both reelected to new three-year terms on the board of directors.
