Manufacturers for the Week: March 12, 2001

  • Net sales for Nortek, Inc. (Providence, RI) for the full year 2000 increased 10% from 1999, reaching $2.2 billion. Net earnings in 2000 were $41.6 million, compared with $49.3 million in 1999. Diluted net earnings per share for the year were $3.70, compared to $4.11 for 1999. Diluted net earnings per share reflect amortization of goodwill and other charges of $1.80 per share in 2000 and $1.53 per share in 1999.
  • York International (York, PA) reported its net income for the fourth quarter of last year at $22.6 million, or $0.59 per share, compared with $14.3 million, or $0.36 per share, for the fourth quarter in 1999.
  • Invensys Climate Controls (London, England) will be featured on Pat Summerall’s series “Champions of Industry” on the Fox Cable News Channel on March 22 at 1:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
  • Dectron International (Roswell, GA) issued awards to three manufacturers representatives who reached over $2 million in sales for 2000. The honored companies were Faulkner/Haynes (Raleigh, NC), Imbert Corp. (Niles, IL), and Robert W. Hayes Co. Inc. (Virginia Beach, VA).
  • FabricAir Inc. (Louisville, KY) issued its “Innovative Sales and Marketing Techniques” award for 2000 to manufacturers representative Smiley El-Abd, vice president of G.F. Morin (Laurel, MD).
  • Tecumseh Products Company (Tecumseh, MI) declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.32 per share, payable on March 30 to shareholders of record of its Class A and Class B common stock as of March 16.
