  • Refron Inc. (Long Island City, N.Y.) has launched a redesigned and enhanced website at www.refron.com.

  • Unico Inc. (St. Louis) is sponsoring the Great American Home Awards presented by the National Trust for Historic Preservation and Old-House Journal.

  • Lindab Inc. (Stamford, Conn.) has appointed John Wolf as vice president of sales for the company’s North American operations.

  • Intellidyne LLC (Glen Cove, N.Y.) has appointed six new manufacturer reps in the United States and Canada for its line of Intellicon® products. These reps are Diamond Controls, DSC Sales, I & S Sales, P.D. Johnson Associates, RN Sides, and SESCO.

  • Hansen Technologies (Burr Ridge, Ill.) has appointed Ulrich Klauck as regional manager for Europe and the Middle East.

  • The commercial foam business of Owens Corning (Toledo, Ohio) announced that, as part of an alliance with Duna USA Inc. (Baytown, Texas), it will lead the sales and marketing efforts of Duna USA’s Corafoam line of polyisocyanurate billets to the U.S. industrial and commercial pipe fabrication market.

  • Global Energy Group Inc. (Odessa, Fla.) will open a western regional sales office in Phoenix. Steve Crimi has been named as the western regional sales manager.

  • Quietside Corp. (Whittier, Calif.) has identified the source of the reported lockout problem with its QVM9 Combination boilers. According to the company, electrical interference that was generated by multiple cycles or rapid cycles of the unit’s ignition transformer and gas valve safety solenoid coils caused the microprocessor to block out commands from the thermostat. In response, an improved version of the FR5 thermostat has been manufactured and a thermostat exchange program, available through Quietside wholesalers, has been established.
