The company’s insulation coupling reduces by up to 60% the time needed to install closed-cell, elastomeric insulation on copper tubing used for refrigerant lines, hot and cold water plumbing, and chilled-water systems, the company claims. It creates a 360-degree vapor barrier and improves aesthetics by eliminating insulation bulges, states the manufacturer. The high-strength, plastic coupling has a design that supports and secures copper tubing and tubing insulation at clevis hangers and strut-mounted clamps. It can be slipped over tubing as it is run to support and level tubing during installation, or it can be placed around tubing when insulation is applied.
