BACnet International announced the results of its board of directors elections. The new board is comprised of eight industry executives who will continue to focus on expanding the successful use of the BACnet building automation protocol.
Open Protocol Smart Home Software to Bring Together All Home Appliances, Devices, and Services

ABB, Robert Bosch GmbH, and Cisco Systems Inc. have announced the formation of an international joint venture called mozaiq operations GmbH to develop and operate an open-software platform for smart homes. The companies said the platform will help to unify today’s stand-alone solutions for home automation.
In an effort to make it easier for technicians to install, service, diagnose, and troubleshoot HVACR equipment, ACCA’s Board of Directors adopted a motion “to implore the manufacturers of HVAC equipment to develop and implement open [nonproprietary], universal, onboard diagnostic [OBD] communication protocols.”
