June 30, 2010: Organizations Publish Third Textbook in HVACR Training Series

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. - Delmar, part of Cengage Learning, has announced the release of HVACR 301, the third book in a four-part series of HVACR training textbooks. The book was written by John Hohman in partnership with the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), PHCC (Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors) Educational Foundation, and Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES).

Building on the beginning concepts and theoretical knowledge established with HVACR 101 and HVACR 201, this installment guides readers through increasingly advanced concepts in the field. Content ranges from the troubleshooting of systems and components to concepts of fluid-handling systems, cooling towers, evaporative condensers, commercial air conditioning and refrigeration systems, and indoor air quality. The text uses field examples and real-world scenarios to provide context that is relevant and applicable to the trade. In addition, detailed pictures, graphs, and tables clarify and illustrate important HVACR systems and processes, aiding professionals and students in understanding complex procedures. Accompanying the book are instructor supplements, including an instructor’s manual, image library, PowerPoint® slides, and an electronic test bank.

HVACR 301 and the other books in the series were written based on curriculum developed by a subject matter expert committee sponsored by ACCA, PHCC Educational Foundation and RSES, guaranteeing the content meets important industry training standards,” said Ed Francis, acquisitions editor, Delmar. “In addition, the building block approach to HVACR concepts employed by the series ensures readers comprehend simpler concepts before moving on to more complex information, making the series an important resource for users across a broad spectrum - from students to professionals.”
