July 29, 2003: Johnson Controls Earns NAESCO Accreditation

MILWAUKEE — The National Association of Energy Service Companies (NAESCO) has accredited Johnson Controls Inc. as an Energy Service Provider (ESP). Johnson Controls is one of only 10 companies to earn NAESCO’s highest accreditation level.

The ESP accreditation certifies that Johnson Controls offers energy supply solutions, such as energy strategy development, energy rate analysis, and energy rate negotiations on a consulting basis.

Terry E. Singer, executive director of NAESCO, said, "Accreditation as an Energy Service Provider is a significant achievement as Johnson Controls underwent a rigorous review of its technical and managerial capabilities to deliver comprehensive energy services to a diverse customer base."

Johnson Controls underwent a five-month application process to receive the ESP accreditation. The company submitted a formal application to NAESCO’s committee of industry experts and underwent an audit of its technical competence and business practices.

Over the past 30 years, Johnson Controls says it has implemented more than 100,000 discrete energy savings projects for more than 2,000 customers.
