July 12, 2011: New MCAA Safety Bulletin Addresses Slips, Trips, and Falls

ROCKVILLE, Md. - The Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) has released a new safety bulletin, Preventing Slips, Trips and Falls, which provides information for mechanical construction and service contractors to address these common jobsite hazards.

“Slips, trips, and falls account for a significant number of jobsite injuries in our industry. By providing educational bulletins like this one, MCAA’s Safety and Health Committee is helping our members to reduce the number of these accidents,” said Pete Chaney, MCAA director of safety and health.

Tom Skaggs, chairman of MCAA’s Safety and Health Committee and vice president – safety for the Murphy Company added that, “Taking simple precautions such as instilling a culture that values good housekeeping and looking out for one another can go a long way toward minimizing slips, trips, and falls.”

The Preventing Slips, Trips and Falls bulletin is available at www.mcaa.org/safety, where additional information from MCAA’s Safety Excellence Initiative is highlighted. In addition, MCAA offers a variety of safety publications specifically for the mechanical construction, service, and plumbing industries at www.mcaa.org/store.
