Johnson Controls: Electric, Hydronic Air Handlers

The GuardianAire wall-mount electric and hydronic air handlers are designed for 13 SEER apartment and condo applications and offer a front or bottom return air position. The flexible units are available for cooling or heat pump applications and can be ordered with a factory-installed piston metering device. Factory- or field-installed thermostatic expansion valves are also available for both R-22 and R-410A refrigerants. The line of air handlers offers a choice of factory or field installed heater kits in a variety of sizes: 3-, 5-, 8-, and 10-kW electric heat kits and two-, three-, and four-row hydronic heat kits. The electric heat kits include a circuit breaker, and the hydronic kits are offered with or without water pumps. With 22-inch cabinets, the air handlers can fit between standard stud spacing. Attached offset hanging brackets allow the unit to be hung inside a closet or installed in the wall with a decorative grille. Direct drive, multispeed blowers circulate air quietly and efficiently. Motor speeds can be easily selected via motor terminals, and swing-mounted blowers ensure easy removal for service.
