Luxaire® Acclimate™ HL8B Series 18 SEER split-system heat pumps offer custom integration with the brand’s complete line of evaporator sections. The units, which use R-410A, can be matched with available energy-efficient, variable-speed air handlers for upflow, downflow, and horizontal left or right applications. Electric heaters are also available. A slotted inlet coil guard and polymer mesh protects the coils from damage. Compressor protection is maintained through an isolated compressor compartment that is highlighted by a molded composite bulkhead. The bulkhead segregates the compressor from the rest of the unit, helping reduce sound and vibration. Each compressor is protected against high and low pressure, as well as excessive temperatures, through simultaneous operation of a high-pressure relief valve and temperature sensors. According to the manufacturer, the SilentDrive™ system uses a swept-wing fan, composite base pan, isolated compressor compartment, and two-stage compressors to reduce overall sound to a whisper.
