CHANTILLY, Va. - The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association’s (SMACNA’s) College of Fellows announced that it is accepting scholarship applications for the 2011-2012 academic year. An interactive application is available on the College of Fellows page on the SMACNA website under the College of Fellows Scholarship link. SMACNA is encouraging applicants to complete and submit this website application online. Applications must be submitted or postmarked no later than March 31, 2011.

College of Fellows scholarships are available to undergraduate students from SMACNA’s extended family, which includes SMACNA contractors, employees of SMACNA contractors, SMACNA Fellows, employees of SMACNA chapters, employees of SMACNA National, SMACNA National associate members, and members of the families of all of these groups.

The College of Fellows currently is administering 27 active scholarships - three at the $2,000 per year level and 24 at the $3,000 per year level. The breakdown is as follows: Three SMACNA scholarships are available at $2,000 per year and 15 College of Fellows Scholarships are available at $3,000 per year. These scholarships are typically available once every four years.

The College also administers a one-year, $3,000 Ernest R. Menold scholarship, which is sponsored by the Sheet Metal Contractors Association of Philadelphia & Vicinity and a second one-year, $3,000 endowment sponsored by the Sheet Metal Contractors of Northern New Jersey. Starting in 2011, SMACNA Sacramento will be sponsoring a one-year $2,000 endowment and two one-year $500 Junior College scholarships.
