ATLANTA - American Residential Services LLC, a privately held, nationwide provider of heating, air conditioning, and plumbing services through the ARS® and Rescue Rooter® brands, has acquired Universal Heating and Cooling of Atlanta and Air-Trol Heating and Air Conditioning of Indianapolis.

“Joining the ARS family gives us the opportunity to more quickly reach our mutual expansion goals, and to add depth such as plumbing to our existing services,” said Jake Mazhar, Universal’s CEO and owner who now joins the senior management team at ARS. “In addition to enhanced opportunities for our employees, our customers will continue to receive the same focus on superior home comfort services that we have always provided. Now we can further elevate the experience of both our employees and customers with the support and resources of a national company.”

With locations offering service in Atlanta, Huntsville, Ala., and Chattanooga, Tenn., Universal has been a provider of air conditioning and heating services since 2000. Mazhar and his staff will remain with the company, and it will operate as Universal/ARS, working in conjunction with Rescue Rooter plumbing in Atlanta.

“We have been looking for opportunities to expand our services for our customers throughout Indianapolis and central Indiana,” said Rob Carrico, owner of Air-Trol Heating and Air Conditioning. “We always strive to ensure our customer’s comfort and exceed their expectations, this will continue as we become part of the ARS/Rescue Rooter Network. This change simply allows us to provide our valued customers with additional services and grow as part of a leading company with national resources.”

Air-Trol has been a provider of heating and air conditioning services since 1979, servicing both residential and commercial clients. The company will become part of ARS/Rescue Rooter, which already operates a branch in the Indianapolis area.
