Jan. 19, 2011: Carrier's Automated Logic Corp. Acquires Canadian Controls Contractor

KENNESAW, Ga. - Carrier Corp.’s Automated Logic Corp. (ALC), a leading provider of control systems for HVAC, lighting, and energy management of buildings, has acquired T.A.C. Controls & Automation Inc. (TAC), an independent ALC controls contractor with offices in Concord, Ontario, Canada. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

TAC designs, installs, and services building control systems for a wide range of market segments, including education, health care, laboratories, data centers, government, and commercial offices throughout the Greater Toronto area. It has been an Automated Logic dealer since 1992. TAC president Steve Martin and the firm’s senior management team will continue in their respective roles.

“This is an exciting addition for Automated Logic,” said Lauren Kolb, president, ALC. “TAC has been an award-winning partner of ALC for over 18 years, and in fact, was our only dealer to have been awarded ‘Dealer of the Year’ twice. We share the same core values, passion for this business, and drive for complete customer satisfaction.”

“This is an exciting step forward for the entire TAC team. The opportunity to be ALC’s first ‘factory direct’ office in Canada is very exciting for our customers and employees,” said Martin. “We’re looking forward to introducing all our customers to the broader range of solutions and services we can now offer as part of the Automated Logic family.”
