Inventory Donations To Charity Provide Tax Relief

The National Association for the Exchange of Industrial Resources (NAEIR) has announced a program for businesses and organizations to reduce old, overstocked, discontinued, or slow-selling inventory while enjoying the benefits of a charitable donation and increased net profits.

NAEIR donations involve tax exemption 170(e)(3), allowing for C corporations to deduct the cost of the inventory donated, plus half of the difference between cost and fair market value, up to twice the cost. Other corporations such as S corporations, partnerships, and sole proprietors are eligible for a straight-cost reduction.

For more information, visit the NAEIR Web site at www.naeir.org or call 800-562-0955 to receive a free donor information kit.
