"We want to emphasize that the program represents more than a chance to win a Cadillac or another lucrative prize," said Dennis Broderick, senior vice president, sales, for In-Sink-Erator. "What you are really doing is ‘buying a share' in the future of the plumbing industry - an investment in scholarships that educate the leaders of tomorrow, and management training programs to help individual contractors improve their business."
Individuals who contribute to the fundraiser are entered in a drawing for a prize sponsored by In-Sink-Erator. As in past years, the winner will be able to select from $25,000 in cash or a new Cadillac. Two new prizes have been added to the 2004 program as well:
Winner and three guests are treated to a deluxe golf trip including first-class airline travel, chauffeured transportation from the airport to four-star accommodations, greens fees, and spending money. The winner can select two courses to play, anywhere in the continental U.S., such as Pebble Beach, Cypress Point, Augusta National, and Pinehurst.
Winner and three guests will depart from Vancouver, British Columbia, and continue to the ports of Skagway, Juneau, and Ketchikan, Alaska. Winners will also be provided spending money for offshore excursions such as a tour on the White Pass scenic railway, viewing the Mendenhall Glacier via helicopter, and the Neets Bay bear watch expedition.
As in previous years, the goal is to sell 1,000 "futures" for $100 each. Of the $100,000 raised, $25,000 will benefit the PHCC Auxiliary Scholarship Fund, while the remaining $75,000 is designated to benefit the PHCC Educational Foundation. This year's drawing will take place during the association's annual convention in Boston, Mass., scheduled for October 12-16.
Futures are available through the state association, members of the auxiliary, and directly from the PHCC national office by calling 800-533-7694.
