Illumra: Door-Window HVAC Sensor

The solar-powered wireless door-window sensor maximizes the energy savings of heating and air conditioning systems by providing wireless status of windows and/or doors. According to the manufacturer, energy waste can be reduced by 20-60 percent by disabling blowers and/or adjusting temperature set points in HVAC systems when windows and doors are left open. The wireless sensors can be used in hotel, condominium, and dormitory buildings. The wireless battery-free sensor communicates using the EnOcean protocol to a variety of compatible actuator and controller products: thermostats, relays, and room controllers as well as BACnet and Ethernet gateways for integration with energy management systems. The sensor also includes onboard energy storage that can operate the device in darkness for several days.
