HVACR, Plumbing 2009 Workshop
The industry-supported 2009 HVACR & Plumbing Instructor Workshop will take place March 11-13 at the National Conference Center in Lansdowne, Va. With an educational and informational focus on “Leading the Industry to a Greener Future,” the workshop is designed to provide a diverse array of general sessions, single-topic workshops, opportunities for networking with major HVACR and plumbing manufacturers, and other industry training providers.
Developed from the collaborative input and support of eight organizations across the HVACR and plumbing industry spectrum, the 2009 workshop is designed specifically by the industry for educators and administrators.
“The workshop will once again provide an excellent opportunity for HVACR and plumbing program instructors, along with other industry professionals, to learn about the latest industry issues and instructional techniques and gain access to industry experts” said Renee Tomlinson of RSES and chair of the 2009 event. “The workshop is designed to provide both a superior educational experience and an extensive networking opportunity for the participants.”
Plumbing and HVACR instructors are instrumental in identifying topics and speakers they believe to be most beneficial to their professional development.
“The beauty of this program is that the participants provide great insight into designing the program,” said workshop committee chair Warren Lupson of Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI).
“They tell us what they need and want to learn, both technical and instructional. Those of us who design the program do so with the guidance of those who will benefit from it, particularly from the members of CARE [Council of Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Educators] who are a significant pillar of the workshop.”
The 2009 workshop is jointly sponsored by Air Conditioning Contractors of America, AHRI, CARE, Heating, Airconditioning & Refrigeration Distributors International, North American Technician Excellence, Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors - National Association Educational Foundation, Refrigeration Service Engineers Society, and SkillsUSA.
