MISSISSAUGA, Ontario - Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) announced “Planning for the Next Generation” as the theme for its 43rd annual general meeting (AGM) and conference, which will be held Aug. 25-27, 2011, at the White Oaks Conference Resort in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario.

HRAI said the 43rd annual meeting will continue to build on the highly successful format of the 2010 annual meeting, providing delegates with outstanding business sessions that meet the needs of HRAI’s three divisions.

The AGM kickoff breakfast will feature keynote speaker Michael “Pinball” Clemons. Renowned as one of pro football’s most electrifying players, this Toronto Argonauts running back was the CFL’s all-time all-purpose yardage leader. In addition to his outstanding athletic ability, his exceptional character made him a fan favorite throughout Canada. He has used his superb leadership and communication skills in his roles as coach, president, and CEO of the Toronto Argonauts - and now as the vice-chairman of the franchise. In 2001, Clemons was honored with the Order of Ontario, and he was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 2008. Clemons inspires his audiences by illustrating what is possible and what it means to beat the odds.

Business sessions for delegates will include: next generation refrigerants, how Internet marketing can increase sales, the impact of the 2012 Ontario Building Code changes, core competency training for managers and supervisors, comfort and energy management control in modern hydronic and HVAC systems, and ultraviolet air cleaning in HVAC systems.

This year’s three-day business program, in the heart of Ontario’s world-famous Niagara Wine Region, will offer a valuable and enjoyable 2011 annual meeting.”

Manufacturer and wholesaler delegates will participate in product section meetings on refrigeration, heating and air conditioning, indoor air quality, and controls. These sessions will address regulatory, market, and supply chain issues as well as promote dialogue between the two sectors of the industry.
