The Model HE440A whole-house Clean Steam humidifier uses two-stage water filtration. The first stage removes chlorine and large particulates. The second stage has a reverse-osmosis filter to remove submicron particulates and dissolved solids from the water. This latter type of filtration is necessary to ensure that no residue is left in the reservoir after the humidifier has evaporated the water, the company says. Other features include a high-temperature thermal limit switch that cuts power to the heating element if the casing becomes too hot, and a float system in which sensors and electrically actuated valves control the water level. Homeowners can be alerted when to change the filter by using the optional AirWatch® filter-change indicator.
