Greenwood Receives Award

BELLEVUE, Wash. - Greenwood Technologies is among others being recognized by the 2007 Discover Brilliant international conference held in Seattle. The wood-fire hydronic furnace company has experienced exceptional growth over the past 18 months. The Brilliant Innovation Award celebrates innovative environmental solutions “that go beyond green.” Companies honored at the Discover Brilliant conference were chosen for their innovation in mitigating negative environmental effects while providing economic value for their end users.

Greenwood also received a 2007 International Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigerating Exposition Innovation Award and the 2006 Vesta Award at the Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Expo.

“We’re thrilled to receive this recognition from the environmental community,” said Michael Kuehner, Greenwood’s vice president of marketing. “It affirms that our furnaces are being met with enthusiasm, not just by consumers and retailers, but also by organizations that share our concern for the environment and locally sustainable solutions.”

Greenwood’s wood-fired furnaces burn wood to heat water for use in forced-air or hydronic heating systems. The clean-burning system leaves few particles to create smoke, creosote, or ash, and are up to 85-percent efficient. The company’s boilers can reduce overall heating costs up to 70 percent, according to a study done by the Canadian government.
