MoreThe Association of Sheet Metal Contractors of Iowa (SMCI) recently held its 36th Annual Statewide Meeting at the Hotel Ft. Des Moines. Guy Gast was elected to serve a two-year term as president.
SMCI is a statewide trade association of sheet metal contractors that operates as the Iowa Chapter of the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association (SMACNA).
Gast is president of the Iowa branch of The Waldinger Corp. The company provides sheet metal, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services throughout the Midwest, with over 800 employees in its four construction offices.
Gast has been active on several local, state, and national sheet metal industry committees. He also serves as chairman of the Associate Members Council for Master Builders of Iowa. Nationally, he serves on SMACNA's High Performing Contractor Task Force and is a member of the SMACNA Contractors' Forum.
