The Halcyon IAQ (indoor air quality) ductless mini-split units help to create a comfortable indoor environment by removing airborne irritants, odors, and allergens, such as cigarette smoke, dust, pollen, mold spores, and pet dander, says the company. According to the manufacturer, the products feature supercharged plasma ionization and electrostatic filtration systems, which ionize the airborne contaminants, neutralize them, and provide clean air. Four new models are available with 18,000- and 24,000-Btu capacities: IAQ cooling systems (Models 18CXQ and 24CXQ) and IAQ heat pump systems (Models 18RXQ and 24RXQ). All the models have a 12-SEER rating. These models feature a color-coded display that shows the operating status and alert the user when the filters need to be cleaned.
