The Halcyon ductless air conditioning and heat pump systems come equipped with an IAQ filter that greatly improves the quality of air within the conditioned space, says the company. The IAQ systems feature supercharged plasma ionization and electrostatic filtration systems that ionize the airborne contaminants, neutralize them, and provide clean air. The filters help to create a comfortable indoor environment by removing airborne irritants, odors, and allergens such as cigarette smoke, dust, pollen, mold spores, and pet dander. The plasma filter’s electric pole generates ions and ozone, while negatively charged particles are attracted to the ground section and are collected by a disinfecting and deodorizing filter. The filters are especially useful at reducing pet and cigarette odors. IAQ models feature a color-coded display that shows the operating status and alerts the user when the filters need to be cleaned.
