Heliocol USA Inc. will supply the panels to heat the swimming pool. The company had done a similar project at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, where the pool complex continues to be used by Georgia Tech University.

The main competition pool in Athens is inside a large metal building at the center of the Olympic Village, next to the basketball arena. Both structures have glaring white roofs. The Heliocol collectors will be installed on top of the natatorium roof.
