Field Controls: UV air purifier

The SunAire™ ultraviolet air-purifying system improves indoor air quality by sterilizing airborne contaminants as they pass through the hvac system, says the company. The unit uses the energy from a specially designed, high-intensity UV-C bulb to eliminate microorganisms such as molds, bacteria, yeasts, dust mites, and viruses which cycle through a home or building, the manufacturer says. Contractors can mount the unit over the coil in the supply plenum, downstream from the air filter in the return plenum, or both.
