The UV-Aire® UV-16R is now available in a 24-V model. The UV lamps kill airborne mold, bacteria, viruses, and other contaminants. The new low-voltage UV-16R/24V can be wired into a 24-V source by any HVAC contractor, without need for a licensed electrician. The system is designed to fit in tight spaces with dimensions outside the duct of 3.5 by 2.5 by 2.5 inches. This model utilizes a 16-inch germicidal UVC lamp with an optional aluminized reflector shield. The reflector allows the installer to concentrate the UV radiation in the duct while shielding areas where UV is not wanted. Features of the new design include twist and lock technology, a built-in safety switch, adhesive-backed mounting template, 10 feet of thermostat leads, and a patented duct board mounting kit.
