Field Controls: Air Purifier

The UV-Aireâ„¢ UV-1500 portable air purifier is designed to purify the air in up to a 1,500-square-foot space. It is a 24- by 18-inch freestanding model, which has optional side panels for transforming the unit into a 24- by 24-inch unit that can be mounted on the ceiling or wall. This air purifier works independently of a residential duct system, so it can be used in homes with heat pumps or homes that have hydronic or radiant heat. Features include a built-in fan, electronic ballast, adjustable-speed control that ranges from 100 to 200 cfm, and a 12- by 12-inch filter with an 8- to 12-MERV rating. The exhaust system has a carbon-coated filter to help reduce household odors, the company says.
