SAN RAMON, Calif. - The ClimateTalk™ Alliance has announced new member companies, including 3 Notch Industrial Communications, Aprilaire, Arzel Zoning Technology, Control Solutions Inc. Minnesota, ecobee, Everex Communications, In2 Networks, Jetlun, Lynxspring, Nogginhaus, Tendril, Varidigm, and ZoneFirst. According to the alliance, these companies will join the current lineup of ClimateTalk Alliance members to drive the future of ClimateTalk, an open standards communication framework designed to enable simple connectivity among diverse HVAC and smart energy devices.

“The ClimateTalk Alliance is well underway and we’re seeing consistent growth and increasing support throughout the industry,” said Craig Johnson, chairman, ClimateTalk Alliance. “We are looking forward to taking these developments to the next level and continuing to demonstrate the benefits that an open protocol like ClimateTalk can bring to the industry.”

The alliance said a top priority is the formation of a Zoning Working Group to develop the next application in the ClimateTalk Communication Infrastructure. Along with existing member, EWC Controls, new members Aprilaire, Arzel Zoning Technology, and ZoneFirst intend to team up to get this working group underway.

“We are truly excited to be part of this important, industry-leading organization,” said Mike Reilly, vice president, EWC Controls. “Open standards benefit the many facets of the HVAC industry, including zoning and IAQ equipment manufacturers, by allowing for development of interoperable equipment. But, the ClimateTalk communication approach takes this one step further and also provides opportunities for customization and differentiation in the various applications; a benefit that is invaluable.”

The organization said the ClimateTalk Alliance is open to companies committed to providing long-term interoperability of communicating devices that provide reduction in energy consumption while improving comfort and end user experience. For more information, visit www.climatetalk.org.
