Facility Expansions Go Hot and Cold

The newly expanded showroom in Anchorage, Alaska, measures 2,400 square feet.

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Grainger has recently enhanced its presence in Alaska and Hawaii, expanding a showroom in Anchorage, Alaska, and relocating a branch in Hawaii to a larger facility in Honolulu.

The company's Alaska expansion includes an Anchorage showroom and a new full-service branch in Fairbanks. These facilities are in response to customer feedback and the growth throughout the state.

The new, expanded showroom is nearly double the original size at 2,400 square feet. In addition to a larger showroom, the local facility also expanded the size of its warehouse enabling the company to increase the amount of inventory it stocks locally.

Grainger's Alaskan expansion reflects a customer need for more products available locally, according to Tom Carr, branch manager.

In Hawaii, Grainger has relocated its existing Honolulu branch to a new, larger facility nearby. The 40,000-square-foot new facility is double the size of the previous location, and offers customers more than 35,000 products available locally. The location features a 3,100-square-foot showroom.

"Our customers told us they needed more products available locally and we listened," said Tom Carr, Grainger branch manager. "We understand that to our customers' time is money, so we designed our new showrooms with speed and convenience in mind, enabling customers to quickly get the products they need and get back to their jobs."
