SCOTTSBLUFF, NE — Telemetrix Inc. has started an energy monitoring project in northern California with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Burger King® Corporation, Cingular PCS, and ITC International.

In the project, Telemetrix will utilize its e-Telemetry Data System to track energy usage in real time to make adjustments to the various energy-consuming elements, depending on the time of day, inside/outside temperatures, and other energy-related activities, including those of the restaurant. According to the company, the use of the system will improve the ability to monitor and manage the performance and efficiency of the hvac systems.

Roger Engstrom, principal of ITC and president of the Association for Facility Engineers in the San Francisco Bay area said, “Our goal is to do continuous monitoring review of buildings using wireless technology, with the first implementation being the hvac applications, which, if fully implemented, could dramatically reduce energy consumption and reduce commercial consumer energy costs by tens of millions of dollars over a very short period of time.”

“The ITC applications will prove a significant development for energy conservation and management for commercial building and commercial applications that will be a significant long-term benefit for all energy customers not only in California, but throughout the United States,” stated Richard Green, vice president of marketing for Telemetrix.
