ST. LOUIS - Emerson Climate Technologies, a business of Emerson, reached 50 million installations of its Copeland® brand CR compressors. In light of the compressors perceived market success, Emerson Climate Technologies will launch into production a new R-410A based platform of reciprocating compressors named CP8. This new platform, to be launched in 2008, will expand Emerson’s R-410A line of Copeland compressors.

“Since the 1980s, our company has built reciprocating compressors for a broad range of air conditioning, heat pump, and refrigeration applications,” said Scott Barbour, president, Emerson Climate Technologies, Air Conditioning division.

“Over the years, the CR reciprocating compressor has been widely adopted by our customers around the world, making it a staple of the industry. Because of this wide acceptance, its aftermarket importance has become even greater for our business. Fifty million compressors is a big installed base.”
