Emerson Helps Food Retailer Increase Efficiency

ST. LOUIS, MO — Emerson Climate Technologies entered into an agreement recently with Tesco PLC, a food retailer in the United Kingdom. Under the agreement, Emerson, through its Retail Services organization, will provide Internet-based energy and equipment monitoring technology at 585 Tesco-owned stores throughout the U.K. Installation of the technology is under way.

In addition, 275 of the stores will undergo Emerson’s patent-pending E-Commissioning program, an energy audit and continuous monitoring process for a supermarket’s refrigeration, hvac, lighting, and building control systems intended to restore peak operating and energy efficiency.

“We are very proud to have been selected by Tesco to help it achieve its business objective of reducing its operating costs through improved energy consumption practices,” said Paul Wickberg, president of Emerson Retail Services. “Tesco is one of the leading supermarket chains in the world. Its decision to use Emerson is testimony to the technology reputation and energy savings results that we are able to provide supermarkets and other chain retailers anywhere in the world.”
