The DuraDuct Model GNX is two-hour-rated ductwork. According to the manufacturer, the fire resistance is achieved without the need for bulky wraps or enclosures, thus eliminating multiple trade coordination and improving the overall schedule. The duct uses a patented double-wall construction, with each duct section consisting of an outer sheet metal liner, insulation, and an inner sheet metal liner. The prefabricated flanged duct sections have an overall wall thickness of 11/16 inch (16.5mm). The ductwork is joined together using a four-bolt-type connection system. The system is suspended on steel threaded rods and support cradles that are fully tested under fire conditions.
