Deregulation Not Likely In Florida
Although the Florida Governor’s Energy Study Commission report supports electricity deregulation in the state, it is expected that the report and deregulation will not be brought up in the legislature because of the effects of deregulation in California, the failure of Enron, and other issues.
An advocate of deregulation, State Senator Tom Lee, said he would introduce a limited deregulation bill in the next session, but noted that it is not likely to be successful.
